Land Rover is officially the second oldest off road vehicle manufacturer. Initially founded in 1948 by the name Rover Company, Land Rover got its present name only in 1978. As the manufacturer of capable off road vehicles, Land Rover soon reached a worldwide approval and the company started to develop highly luxurious offroaders under the name Range Rover. Land Rover changed many owners, while now it is a part of Jaguar Land Rover group owned by Indian conglomerate Tata. Producing all kind of SUVs (including small city SUVs), Land Rover is still one of the most popular manufacturer of utility vehicles.
