Lotus vehicles

Lotus is a British manufacturer of small, lightweight sports vehicles. Founded in 1952 by Colin Chapman, Lotus represents the best example of European small sports car manufacturer which earned its place among the big ones by competing and winning in various racing events. Its most important model was simple, but as Lotus 7, which brought the success to the company in the fifties. Lotus produced lightweight sports cars powered by four cylinder or six cylinder Toyota engines which power the rear wheels of all Lotus vehicles. As any other small manufacturer, Lotus is financially sensitive and over the years it was owned by Bugatti, Proton and even GM.
