Acura MDX vehicles
Acura MDX is a front-wheel or all-wheel drive SUV of K2 class. World premiere of the third generation model was held at the Auto Show in New York in March 2013.
One should not pay much attention to the fact that the third edition of MDX does not differ much in appearance from its predecessor. Yes, Acura designers have kept the overall proportions of the car, the shape of headlights, grille, air intakes and other elements, but the car still carries some innovations. For example, LED head optics. On the whole, the MDX became more efficient. In particular, its coefficient of drag reduced by 17%. Achieving this result was possible through many hours of purging the model in the wind tunnel.
Acura MDX interior became significantly more modern. More comfort, more quality materials, and more rich equipment - here is the recipe for the vehicle to recruit new fans. Among curious innovations worth noticing is the lower touch screen with a tactile feedback, allowing refuse from a significant amount of buttons. MDX driver got an adaptive cruise control with the possibility of emergency braking, and tracking system for the marking and “blind" zones. Well, passengers of the third-row seats have an easy access into the car’s saloon. A click on the button will bend down the second row of seats and move them forward.
And yet, the most important changes in the Acura MDX were made from an engineering standpoint. The car is built on a new platform, and for the first time it is offered not only in full but also with monodrive. Engineers seriously upgraded both front and rear suspension, making it more compact, killing two birds with one stone, as it helped to improve handling and increased the MDX interior space.
