Do you want to earn a few bragging rights? It's simple. Simply test your Ford Fusion Hybrid accelerations time, of course, in a hands-free as well as fully automated way. What's more, post the Fusion Hybrid 0-60 time to your leaderboard.
The leaderboard will feature accuracy to the millisecond and display your position in comparison to other users in real time. Also, it'll save for you lots of acceleration times from various models.
Most mid-size sedans now have a hybrid model for consumers. As the number continues to increase, it becomes harder to pick the right hybrid for you. Adding to the features found in the standard Ford Fusion is the new 2018 Fusion Hybrid. It carries on the sharp looks, an exceptional Sync 3 infotainment system, peerless handling and spacious cargo and passenger spaces that give it an edge over its competitors.
The overall software system was upgraded last year. This gave the Fusion better range and fuel economy. The car now responds better to traditional driving and the engine no longer disconnects with the car’s dynamics in road speeds.
Compared to the lighter and agile gasoline versions, the hybrid Fusion feels a little willowy and heavier while negotiating corners. It does, however, corner fairly flat and predictably. On the downside, the low-geared steering can require the drive to shuffle along twisty roads. Ford has managed to blend its braking system to the Fusion exceptionally well.
The Energi plug-in Fusion hybrid will recharge a completely exhausted battery in 3 to 4 hours using the 240-volt Level 2 charging station. Its electric range is rated at 22 miles. The recharge period could go up to 7 hours where a household plug is used. The standard charger bought together with the Hybrid runs at 3.3 KW. Compared to newer chargers from other hybrids, this is somewhat low. The charger doesn’t look any different from what you’d find in a conventional hybrid. The distinguishing features are its cover and badge.
The exterior oblong grille has been widened and looks crispier in the current hybrid Fusion. The chevron-shaped lights now come with LED headlights. Light colors on the body give the car an impression of thickness while darker colors make it look sporty.
The interior features the conventional mix of two-toned or black materials that are gentle to the hands. Like many other vehicles, there’s also a matte silver on the accents. All Fusion trims have glass instruments that can be configured to display graphics and data displays.
Climate controls and audio settings remain operated through knobs. There are new technological innovations that require configuration through capacitive touch-sensitive buttons. The simpler, more functional and quicker Sync 3 interface replaced the much-troubled MyFordTouch voice input system. Complains have now reduced and buyers find little to no issues with the new system.
The Ford Fusion Hybrid shares the same powertrain with the C-Maz Hybrid hatchback. Buyers have the option of choosing plug-in versions that carry the “Energi” badge. Fusion Hybrid rivals include Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Kia Optima Hybrid, and the Honda Accord Hybrid.
