Do you want to earn a few bragging rights? It's simple. Simply test your Mercedes-Benz E-Class accelerations time, of course, in a hands-free as well as fully automated way. What's more, post the E-Class 0-60 time to your leaderboard.

The leaderboard will feature accuracy to the millisecond and display your position in comparison to other users in real time. Also, it'll save for you lots of acceleration times from various models.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is in its fifth generation. It’s an outstanding technological marvel. Thanks to its high-strength aluminum and steel structure, it’s lighter, bigger and roomier than its predecessor.

The 220d is the seller of the range, weighing 100kg less than its previous version and features a new 4-cylinder all-alloy diesel engine. A 350d is also available, with consumers expecting more versions in the near future.

There are three versions of the E-Class: the E300, the E400 Coupe and Cabriolet, the AMG E43, and the AMG E63 S.

The Base E300 sedan sports comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 that churns 273 pound-feet of torque and 241 horsepower. The power is either channeled to the rear wheels or all 4 wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. At 1,300 rpm, the E300 can tow up to 4,000 pounds. It gets from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph.

The all-wheel drive adds on some weight, making this version a little slower than the rear-wheel-drive. Wheel sizes range between 17 to 20 inches. The ride is smooth and very control. The Sport+ mode allows for comfort while the air dampers lower speed and provide better gas mileage.

The E400 coupe and convertible come with two doors each. The E400 features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that generates 354 pound-feet of torque and 329 horsepower. The car hits the 60 mph mark in 5.5 seconds in RWD while the AWD launches the car to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. Peak torque is experienced at 1,600 rpm. The engine is mounted on a 9-speed automatic transmission that’s quick and smooth in all modes.

The E400 shares its setup with the wagon and sedan versions. It’s, however, lower and comes with adaptive dampers and air springs. The Sport mode is ideal on ramps and winding roads while the Comfort mode gives a poised and stable ride.

The AMG E43 is a power machine. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 produces about 384 pound-feet of torque and 396 horsepower. This power is linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission that gets the car to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Top speed is rated at 155 mph.

Shifts are seamless except in the Sport+ mode. The steering here is unsettled. There’s a firm but comfortable ride thanks to the independent rear and front wheel suspensions.

The AMG E63 S is the athlete in the range. Its 4.0-liter V8 is packed in a sedan- or wagon-like body. Torque and horsepower figures are impressive. The twin-turbocharged V8 produces a stunning 627-pound-feet of torque and 603 horsepower. Combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the AWD system is capable of channeling all the power to the rear, letting the car get into a drift. 0 to 60 mph takes place in just 3.3 seconds with the E63 S rated at 180 mph top speed.

The entire family includes sedans, cabriolets, wagons, and coupes. The sedan silhouette remains the same. The rear LED taillights add to the entire vehicle’s charming detail. There’s a shoulder line that falls towards the rear wheels while the draped roofline flows towards the back.

The cabriolets and coupes are lower and come 2 doors less. The rear and front windows integrate frameless with the body.  The window is cut into 1/3 and 2/3 segments due to the large spans of glass.

The E-Class no longer carries bands of wood and lots of buttons in its interior. The leather is vividly colored and stitched exceptionally well and warmed by ambient light. Open-pore woods and metallic weaves integrate well to give consumers that Mercedes feel.

The center console carries with it a 12.3-inch display that either comes with or without gauges. Technological advancements allow the driver to receive information behind the steering wheel. Much of the interior configurations such as climate control can be accessed through the touch-sensitive infotainment display.

Only the wagon and sedan received redesigns last year. This year, the convertible and coupe have been subjected to the same. The 2018 E-Class convertible and coupe boast new rich interiors and advanced safety features. The AMG E63 has more torque and power thanks to its efficient turbocharged V8. All variants come with the latest technology, with some being semi-autonomous. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class combines technology, performance, and comfort to appeal to buyers of all types.
