Do you want to earn a few bragging rights? It's simple. Simply test your Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class accelerations time, of course, in a hands-free as well as fully automated way. What's more, post the CLS-Class 0-60 time to your leaderboard.
The leaderboard will feature accuracy to the millisecond and display your position in comparison to other users in real time. Also, it'll save for you lots of acceleration times from various models.
The Mercedes was the first to mix an agile character of a 2-door coupe and the sedan functionality in one vehicle 15 years ago. Its CLS with a restored power-transmission plant is the product of this trailblazing experiment. However, the CLS competitors were not too far behind. BMW Gran Coupe 6, Audi A7, Porsche Panamera entered the automotive market thick and fast.
Engine, 0-60 historical progress
After the CLS 400 model removed from 2018 sale, the CLS 550 stays the basic main lineup vehicle. It’s V8 twin-turbo engine gets 4.6-liter and pushes 402 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of turning couple. The motor takes to start with inspiring acceleration via the 9-speed-changing box. The buyers can choose the rear-wheel drive vehicle or all-wheel drive. The model smooths over most potholes, bumps and rough spots with its modified shocks.
The CLS63 AMG like supercar pushes about 585 hp using rear wheel drive due to 7-speed automated shift gearbox. The Mercedes-Benz CLS 0-60 time is no more than 3,5 seconds.
High tire grip and AMG bracket make the steering easier and more maneuverable. The Mercedes-Benz CLS 1/4 mile time is 11,5 seconds. However, you stay in the sedan yet.
Exterior & Interior
Looking at the CLS model you don’t see visually striking forms with sheet metal as in an E-Class model. CLS with its bonnet star, thoughtful design of grille kit and soft LED light shows to advantage among the competitors, which, in turn, go away from details in the styling. Also, they visually reduce the vehicle by cutting its sites while the CLS gets the roofline arching curve. Thanks to such signature feature as the back wheels design and short deck lid the CLS has subtly and classic style.
Interior excels at the aesthetic mix of wood and leather. The display is on the dash and looks a little frumpish. But the brand-new models of sedans have an advanced controls built-in center stack.
The CLS gets linden, ash, poplar, or walnut to the interior. Whatever the type of wood the CLS gets colorful styling treatment is at its best.
Conclusion
In fact, the CLS is a visually improved version of the traditional Mercedes saloon. However, you lose a little comfort in comparison with the larger sedans due to interior space in the back and short backlights with high beltline. By contrast, the front seats are no different than the Mercedes’ S-Class flagship car.
However, the CLS goes up against the competitors in lux-class thanks to its large-capacity engines, up-market interior, and the Mercedes-Benz 0 to 60 mph and quarter mile specs. The CLS don’t need any recommends and the experienced drivers can instantly see the true value of its functioning and ride comfort.
