Introduction

The BMW 6 series is an advancement from the four-door 5 series which is an advancement from the compact 4 series which is subsequently an advancement from the 2 series coupes. There is also an introduction of a few more new colors and trim options for the cabin. The infotainment also now offers a lap timer application as well as a GoPro video-camera integration which could be viewed as both nifty and restricted in the car as compared to the similar GoPro iPhone application. Though the front seats in the M6 are more bolstered than expected in a standard 6-series, they are multi-adjustable and comfortable and cannot be termed as confining. Similar praises cannot be placed on the M6’s back seat. First of all, entrance will require even average height passengers to duck, and secondly, they will have to keep their heads down as the roofline cuts in drastically. The leg space is however reasonable.

Verdict

The BMW M6 is fast and can be considered superficially fun but doesn’t match the thrill that is expected from a550-horsepower convertible. The BMW M6 option can be seen as an expensive alternative to a fast ride even within BMW’s own range of cars. The car also fails to compete favorably with its rivals from Porsche, Maserati, Jaguar and even Mercedes. The M6’s crossover exhaust manifold, while minimizing boot lag makes the engine sound like a flat-plane crank V-8.
